MAI TRAN’S EMBLEM

This project is an emblem I created for a young woodcut artist, Mai Tran.

- Conceptualization: I brainstormed ideas for the emblem, considering her profession as a woodcut artist. To capture both her craft and identity, I focused on her silhouette face and woodcut tools.

- Design Elements:

+ I drew her profile in a minimalist style, emphasizing features while maintaining elegance.

+ Stylized gouge and ink roller were put under the silhouette, representing her craft.

+ The design remained clean and uncluttered.

- Color and Mono Versions: The color version featured warm earthy tones, evoking the natural feel of wood. The mono version is simplified to black, grey, and white, emphasizing clarity.

- Typography: Her name and profession curved around the emblem, framing the composition.

Overall, the emblem reflects her artistic identity, craftsmanship, and minimalist sensibility.
